IDS 2013: Extraction sockets, the new Geistlich Bio-Oss Pen® and spectacular 3D surgical movies
This year Geistlich Biomaterials had a stand of more than 160 m2 and concentrated mainly on the treatment of extraction socket management with Geistlich Combi-Kit Collagen. The Swiss and German regeneration experts had brought along two innovations. Geistlich Biomaterials demonstrated the Geistlich Bio-Oss Pen® that has been available on the German market since 2012. Another attraction was the spectacular 3D movies. Thanks to the 3D glasses visitors could see treatments such as intraosseous defects and recession coverage as if they were actually there.
Geistlich Combi-Kit Collagen for extraction sockets and small augmentations
Geistlich Biomaterials recommends the Geistlich Combi-Kit Collagen to treat extraction sockets. This is a proven combination of 100mg Geistlich Bio-Oss Collagen® and 16x22mm Geistlich Bio-Gide®. It is particularly suitable for smaller augmentations and for ridge preservation. The use of Geistlich Bio-Oss Collagen® together with Geistlich Bio-Gide® has been tried and tested both for a defective buccal bone wall and for peri-implantation defects.
New: Geistlich Bio-Oss Pen® and 3D surgical movies
For the first time at the IDS Geistlich Biomaterials demonstrated the Geistlich Bio-Oss Pen®, the practical applicator that enables the precise application of the Geistlich Bio-Oss® granules. The pen makes it easier to get at defects, particularly in difficult to reach areas at the side of teeth. Also new were the spectacular 3D movies that were running on the Geistlich stand. The large number of visitors interested in the treatment methods almost felt they were present as they watched the different indications of operations to regenerate hard and soft tissue.
